Age 71 of Florence, KY formerly of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017. She was born February 1, 1946 in Portsmouth to Edward and Geneva (Carver) Payne. A class of 1964 Clay High School graduate, Phyllis worked as a daycare provider for over 20 years. In her spare time she enjoyed bingo, going to casinos, ceramics, and gardening. She was of the Christian faith and more than anything loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Matthew (Kelly) Carter of Burlington, KY; daughters, Christina (Jasin) Carter of Independence, KY, Rhonda Sabelhaus of Florence, KY; brother, Robert (Loretta) Payne of Minford; grandchildren, Kelsey Sabelhaus, Jacob Stewart, Braydon Carter, Jaxon Artopoeus; and great-grandchild, Tatum Burk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2007 by her husband, Donald; five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
