Piccola Ruth, 89, of South Webster, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born April 5,1922, a daughter of the late Albert and Violet Shope Smith. She was a member of the South Webster Community Church, D.A.R. and the Ashley Corner Homemakers. Piccola is survived by two sons, William A. Ruth (Delores) of Cincinnati and Lewis E. Ruth (Darlene) of Woodland Park, CO; one daughter, Connie Yeley (Darrell) of Wheelersburg; one brother, Caryold Smith, of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Wanda Noel of Wheelersburg and Frankie Cunningham of Columbus; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren including her special great-grandson Darren. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Ruth whom she married on November 10, 1939 in New Boston; two sons, Robert L. Ruth and Norman D. Ruth; two brothers, James O. Smith and Albert Smith; and two sisters, Goldie Whittington and Muriel Hager. Services will be 11 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster with Pastor Merit Smith officiating. Burial will be at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 PM at D.W. Swick in South Webster.
