Ralph G. Shaffer, 70, of South Webster went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 19, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He was retired from the Portsmouth Waste Water Treatment Plant after 29 years service. He attended IPCC church at Scioto Furnace for 18 years. Ralph leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Glenda Smith Shaffer whom he married on April 12, 1991; he also leaves two sons, Steven Shaffer and wife Michelle of South Webster and Russell Shaffer of North Carolina; two other daughters, Janet McGuire of Columbus and Candy and Rick Kelley of South Webster; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Golden Shaffer; mother, Evelyn, a son, Jimmy Lee Shaffer; first wife, Violet and 1 grandchild, Dalton Rae Shaffer. Services will be 2 PM Tues., June 23, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster with Dean Kuhn officiating.
