Age 84 of Portsmouth, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at OSU Hospital in Columbus. He was born on July 8, 1931 in Sciotoville to Ramey and Pearl (Larter) Hoskins. He was a 1949 graduate of East High School in Sciotoville and shortly thereafter served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Later in life while working full time and raising a family, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at OU . He eventually retired from the "A" plant, having served 42 years as a foreman. He was an avid private plane pilot and he was a member of the Sciotoville's Christ United Methodist Church, a 44-year member of the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23 in Portsmouth, and a member of AOPA. He loved the Florida Keys and resided in Cudjoe Key over 30 years.

He is survived by two sons, Tim (Shelley) Hoskins of Galina, OH and Erin (Valerie) Hoskins of Jackson, OH; two daughters, Elaine (Larry) Hanlon of Richmond, VA and Melinda Hoskins of Cudjoe Key, FL; one brother, Richard Hoskins of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Sue Jung of Columbus, Wanda Appleton of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice in 2001; one sister, Dinelle Medina.

A memorial service will be held November 21, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 5731 Gallia Street, Sciotoville, OH 45662.
