Randell Duane Cunningham, 51, of Lucasville, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in Port au Prince, Haiti. He was born June 15, 1958 in Portsmouth to the late Jack and Loretta Mays Cunningham. Randy was a 1976 graduate of Valley High School and attended Shawnee State University. He worked for USEC for several years and then began his mission work. In July of 1998 Randy and his wife Patti, along with their daughter Lindsey, traveled to Haiti to begin their missionary work for Kingdom Builders International, Inc. They would spend up to 8 months a year working the missionary fields in Haiti. Their work included hospital ministry, opening medical clinics and schools, planting new churches, and developing a feeding program for entire families. Randy loved the Lord dearly and often said that he would work for the Lord until he died. Randy is survived by his wife, Patricia Howe Cunningham of Lucasville, two sons, Jared Cunningham (Julie) of Lucasville and Jude Isaac of Haiti, a daughter, Lindsey Cunningham of West Portsmouth, a brother, Ronald Cunningham (Rita) of Portsmouth, and a grandson, Ethan Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Cunningham. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Rubyville Community Church. Friends may call on Monday, January 4 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville, and again one hour before the service on Tuesday at Rubyville Community Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kingdom Builders International, Inc. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
