Rhonda Yuvonne (Ames) Horsley, aged 57, received her angel wings on August 14, 2024, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Born on July 22, 1967, Rhonda was a lifelong advocate for animals, a devoted evangelist, and a cherished voice within her community at Pilgrim Wesleyan Church.

Rhonda dedicated much of her life to animal rescue and advocacy, reflecting her deep compassion for all living creatures. An avid camper, she found joy in nature and cherished spending time with her children, family, and animals. Her love for singing praises at her church was known to many, as she blessed congregants with her beautiful voice, under the guidance of Pastor Ronnie and his wife, Polly Richmond.

She leaves behind a loving family: her husband, David Horsley; daughters, Alicia (Brian) Reader of Jackson, Ohio, and Jennifer (Delbert) Tilley of Waverly, Ohio; and son, Seth (Melissa) Hughes of Waverly, Ohio. She is also survived by her siblings, Sally (John) Scott of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Lanny (Judy) Thornsberry of Blackoak, Kentucky, Ron (Kook) Thornsberry, Danny Thornsberry of Vanceburg, Kentucky, and Renee (Steve) Ervin of Garrison, Kentucky. Grandchildren Brylon, Zavier, Alexis, Makenzie, Tenyson, Willow, Chayton, Dakota, and Addison.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys "Bertha" Ames and Wilford Dewey "Pappy" Ames; her brother, Marty Thornsberry; and her in-laws, Mary Sloan Horsley and John Horsley, with whom she shared a special bond.

Arrangements are entrusted to D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel), located at 5951 Gallia St., Sciotoville, OH 45662. Honoring Rhonda's wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be Saturday September 7, 2024 at 9:30 AM.
