Rickey A. Jenkins, 69, of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday April 25, 2024 at home. He was born April 21, 1955 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Ossie and Ruby (Adkins) Jenkins.

He formerly worked for the City of Portsmouth Service Department. He loved to fish, hunt and was a well- known Beekeeper. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of them.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Brenda Jenkins; a son, Rickey Jenkins Jr. and his wife Melissa of Portsmouth; a brother, Dan Jenkins of Portsmouth; 2 sisters, Cathy Shultz of New Boston and Connie Hammond of Portsmouth; 1 grandson, Rickey Jenkins III and wife Bailey of Springfield.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Horsley.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday April 29, 2024 at the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12 Noon to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
