Robert Dale Curnutte, 64, of Portsmouth died Monday, January 19, 2009 at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1944 in Portsmouith, a son of the late Wells and Margie Hill Curnutte.He was retired from N&W railroad and was a member of the Portsmouth Eagles. He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Curnutte-Newman of West Portsmouth and Cheri Curnutte-Payton and special friend James Tice of Portsmouth; one brother, Gerald Curnutte of Dallas, TX.; two sisters, Patsy Curnutte Hall and Roger of Portsmouth and Jonna Curnutte Jenkins of Kingston, OH. 3 grandchildren, Samantha Jo Curnutte and Brian Journey of West Portsmouth, Kayla Payton of Portsmouth and Adam Newman of West Portsmouth, also one great-grandchild, a very special little man, Logan Keith Journey. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eda Sue. Services will be 1:00 PM Sat., Jan. 24, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with burial at Memorial Burial Park.
