Robert Mac Hurst, age 63, of Portsmouth died May 8, 2009 at his home. He was born October 28, 1945 in Sciotoville to Romulus and Addie (Huffman) Hurst. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was of the Baptist faith. Bob enjoyed all types of racing, especially sprint racing and dirt cars. He is survived by two sons, Robert Hurst, Jr. (Paula) of Minford and Randy Hurst of Wheelersburg; one brother, Jack Hurst of Waverly; one sister Mary Skaggs of Sciotoville; eight grandchildren, Brady, Anna, Evan, Portia, Mercedes, Tyler, Cheryl, and Shayla; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl; two sons, Darren and Ronnie Hurst; and one brother, Paul Hurst. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 12, 2009 at the Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Kevin Gullion officiating. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday on hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
