Robert "Ed" Keeton, age 88 of Minford, formerly of Wheelersburg, died Sunday January 3, 2010 at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born January 25, 1921 in Magoffin County, KY to Loy and Grace (Helton) Keeton. He was a fireman for nearly 40 years with the Norfolk & Western Railroad. Robert was of the Baptist faith, member of the Fireman and Oilers union, and the James Dickey Post #23. He served in the U.S. Army for three years during WW II. He is survived by one brother Ray Keeton of Aston, PA; three sisters, Shirley Rexroad of Fairfield, CA, Doris Hayes of Oxford, PA, Kay Mastellar of Boothwyn, PA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis in 2007, two brothers, Charles and Jimmy Keeton; five sisters, Edith Plummer, Beulah Carlo, Wilma Miller, and Mary and Ethel in infancy. Private funeral will services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
