Robert Allen Neal Sr., 75, of Lucasville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 13th, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was a 1967 graduate of Portsmouth High School. He served 6 years in the Marine Corps, fought in the Vietnam War and retired from the Army National Guard as Staff Sargent 216 B Company. He is a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 471, Charter Member of American Legion Riders Post 471 and The Color Guard at Post 471. He retired from the City of Portsmouth after 32 years of service.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sandy Neal; 2 children Robert A. (Lisa) Neal II, Tamara (Mike) Roush and 1 grandchild, Thomas Neal; 3 sisters, Patti (Duane) Keaffaber, Vicki Unger, Jean (Bill) Deleranko and 1 brother Mike (Pichi) Welsh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Weister Neal; a sister Laura Marlatt, a brother Larry Marlatt and a brother in-law Mark Unger.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday March 18, 2025 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with Pastors Jerry Horton and Roy Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park with Graveside Military Honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
