Obituary

Roy C. Willis, 86, of South Webster went to be with his Lord on Sunday Dec. 22, 2013 at home. He was born August 5, 1927 in South Webster a son of the late Herbert and Clara Wells Willis. He was a lifelong farmer on his family farm in South Webster and was a minister for 57 years. He and his wife Vena Pastored many churches which included Union Hill, Scioto Baptist, New Hope Baptist, Wells Chapel, Rehoboth Mission and Happy Hollow and he held several Revivals over that 57 years. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WW II. Roy is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Willis of South Webster, a granddaughter, Wendi Williams of Indianapolis, Ind. and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Vena Adams Willis; 2 brothers, Herb (Dode) Willis and Chester (Bus) Willis; 2 sisters, Dorothy Bellamy and Virginia Hagen. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday Dec. 27, 2013 at Union Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Nelson officiating. Interment will be at South Webster cemetery with military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 8 PM at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN SOUTH WEBSTER and Friday 10 to 11 AM at the church. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
