Age 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Community Hospice, Ashland, KY.

She was born to the late Robert Elisha and Lillian (Moore) Carter on September 20, 1923 in Lewisburg, Logan County, KY. She graduated in 1942 from Northridge High School in Northridge, OH. Ruby worked several years as a nurse in Sagamore Hills, Summit County, OH. She thoroughly loved social activities and travel. She was a wonderful example of love, faith, strength, kindness, compassion, and generosity. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fannie Elizabeth Miller, her son-in-law, Paul Burchett, and her great-granddaughter, Natosha Nicole Stiles.

She was married to Harold Riddle on November 19, 1945 in Adams County, OH. They were divorced December 12, 1949. On June 10, 1950, she married Joseph Thomas Karasek in Summit County, OH. They were happily married for 28 years. Of this marriage, three children were born. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1978. She married on February 3, 2001, to Norm E. Huntsman. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2005.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith Burchett of Peebles, OH; two sons, John (Sharon) Karasek of South Shore, KY and Donald (Joann) Karasek of Beaver, OH; an adopted daughter, Kimberly Karasek of Portsmouth, OH; two sisters, Phyllis J. Herby of Dayton, OH and Florence Mason of West Union, OH; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg with Pastor Ralph Shaffer officiating.
