Ruth M. Jordan, 85 of Sciotoville, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth. She was born March 25, 1930 in Scioto County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Winters Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Jordan whom she married on November 30, 1946 in Greenup, KY, and a brother, Harold Miller. Ruth was a member of the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene.

Ruth is survived by one son, John (Amy) Jordan of Portsmouth; two daughters, Mary Ann (Ted) Shmidt of Chillicothe and Susan Leadingham of Wheelersburg; one sister, Helen Adams of Portsmouth; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a former daughter-in-law, Randa Jordan of Wheelersburg.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2015 at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Chad Garinger officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
