Age 53 of Big Stone Gap, VA passed away March 5, 2017 at his home. He was born September 10, 1963 in Lawrence County, OH to Billy and Mabel Joan (Pieratt) Litz. Samuel was a 1981 graduate of Wheelersburg High School, served his country in the Marines, and was a Maintenance worker for a school.

He is survived by his mother, Joan; brother, Bill (Benita) Litz of Portsmouth, twin brother Steve (Jonne) Litz of Big Stone Gap, VA; sister, Suzy (Ted) Adams of Wheelersburg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace with military rites provided by James Dickey Post #23, American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to help with funeral expenses.
