Age 70 of South Webster, passed away on March 22, 2016 at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born September 15, 1945 in Carter County, KY to Clifford and Mary (Price) Horsley. Shannon was a graduate of South Webster High School, class of 1966, and served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He loved fishing, motorcycles, and Morel mushroom hunting. He was a former member of the American Legion, Eagles, and Moose.
Shannon is survived by his wife, Karen; one son, Shannon Horsley, Jr. of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Angie Horsley Madden (John Jr.) of South Webster; four grandchildren, Holly Horsley, Jacob, Justin, and Jeremy Tackett; brothers and sisters, Clayton, Danny, Keith, Fern, Terry, Garnet, Diane, and Shelby Jean; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Horsley, and six brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Jason Hamilton officiating. Friends may call Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. prior to the services. Military rites will be provided by James Dickey American Legion Post #23.
