Obituary

Shirley Margaret Piguet, age 75, was born October 31, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Herman and Mary Wente of Vernon Township. Shirley was a resident of Wheelersburg and passed away at SOMC Hospice on Monday, December 14, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Piguet; two sisters, Dorothy Cornwell and Bernice Klauser; one brother, Billy Wente; and an infant daughter, Margaret Piguet. Shirley was a bus driver for the Wheelersburg School Systems for many years, a member of the Lily Chapel Church of Christ in Vernon Township, a member of the 55 Club, volunteered for the election committee, and had organized and helped complete the Veterans of Foreign War Memorial Wall found in the Vernon Township Park.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Eddie (Kim) Piguet of Portsmouth and Terry (Lou) Piguet of Wheelersburg; two step-sons, Greg (Carolyn) Piguet and Rod Piguet, both of Wheelersburg; several extended family, Trish (Scottie) McGuire, Mike (Bonnie) Piguet, Michelle (Steve) Duncan, Tim Piguet and Sue Piguet; her sister, Ruth Knappenberger; and eight grandchildren, Dene (Kevin) DeGonzague, Kristina (David) Shope, Cody (Sarah) Piguet, Adair (Josh) Mercer, Keri (Chris) Howard, Ashley (Matt Malone) Phillips, Grant Piguet and Jacob Piguet. She also had ten great-grandchildren, Michael Brannon, Devon Shope, Zachary Shope, Lillianna Shope, Emmitt Mercer, Drew DeGonzague, Eli DeGonzague, Xander Piguet and McKinzie Piguet and Dalton Howard.

She had many great friends, but three very special ladies who always looked after her, Fawn Landrum/Edgerton, Eileen Crawford, and Sandy Belford. A special thanks to Tammy McQuait, Ray Bailey, and all of the Concord staff for their great care of our mom.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg, with John Coriell officiating. Interment will be at Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.
