Age 78, of Sciotoville, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Best Care in Wheelersburg. He was born on August 22, 1935 in Portsmouth to Harry and Dorothy (Alexander) Adkins. He was a brick mason by trade and spent many years working for Empire Detroit Steel Company, retiring in 1980. Stanley enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Bonser Run Christian Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Stanley W. Adkins of Sciotoville; one brother, Harry L. Adkins of Portsmouth; two sisters, Bonnie Perdue of Marietta GA; Anna Cardenas (Arturo) of Portsmouth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta in 1989; two sisters, Bertie Riley and Zelma Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Dan Deck officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. and one hour before the service at the funeral home.
