Steven Wilson Bouts, 76, of South Webster, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026. He was born in Portsmouth on August 18, 1950, the son of Marvin and Wilma (Burchett) Bouts.
Steven was a devoted husband, a hardworking man, a collector, and a familiar and valued member of the South Webster community. He shared 51 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Thelma, who survives him.
Steven worked for 54 years in the auto parts business, beginning with Shoemaker Parts and Minford Parts, which later became Newsome Auto Parts. His dedication to his work and the people he served was an important part of his life and a testament to his strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Steven had a passion for collecting and a deep appreciation for the things of the past. He especially enjoyed collecting metal signs, license plates from every state, vintage gas cans, and soda pop bottles. He loved spending time at flea markets and yard sales, always interested in finding the next unique piece to add to his collection. He also had a fondness for old cars and enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places.
Steven was dedicated to serving his community. He was involved with the South Webster Fire Department and served as an EMT for 25 years. He also served as a member of the South Webster City Council and was a past member of Christ Methodist Church in South Webster.
Those who knew Steven will remember him not only for his many years of hard work and community service, but also for his genuine interests, his stories, his love of collecting, and the enjoyment he found in the simple things—an old car, a trip to a flea market, or the discovery of a unique item at a yard sale. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting impact on the community he called home.
Steven is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Thelma Bouts of South Webster; his brother, Michael (Jayne) Bouts of Cincinnati; niece, Heather (Steve) Lantman of Cincinnati; and nephew, Ryan (Alicia) Bouts of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Wilma (Burchett) Bouts.
Steven will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former coworkers, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his 76 years. His memory will live on through the people he loved, the community he served, and the many things he collected and cherished along the way.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2026, 1:00 PM at D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in South Webster, with Pastors Larry Moore and Ed Litteral officiating; interment to follow at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
