age 54 of Wheelersburg died October 28, 2009 at Southern Ohio Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born August 9, 1955 in Portsmouth to Homer and Addie (Maynard) Sommer. He graduated from South Webster High School in 1973. Steven worked at USEC for nearly 35 years as a process production operator. He enjoyed farming, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Steven is survived by two sons, Shawn (Jennifer) Sommer of Wheelersburg, and Scott (Lorna) Sommer of Wheelersburg; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tyler, and Alana Sommer; mother, Addie Sommer of Wheersburg; two brothers, Douglas (Ladora) Sommer of Jackson, Bradley (Susan) Sommer of Minford; five nieces and nephews, Natasha, Brock, Skyler, Brooke, Shelley; special cousin Adam Riggs of South Webster; special friend Jeanette Wiley of Beaver; former wife Brenda Sommer of Ashland, KY. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2009 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
