Thelma Joan (Rogers) Montgomery, 86, passed away on Thursday April 28, 2022 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born June 14, 1935 to Joseph Rogers and Nettie (Wilson) Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Ray Montgomery whom she married in May of 1960.

Thelma is survived by her daughters, Deanna and Chris Cope of Indianapolis, IN, Kendra and Jim Caldwell of Portsmouth, OH, Laura and Mike Simpson of Portsmouth. Grandchildren, Ashley Cope, Colby and Kara Cope all of Indianapolis, IN, Abigail Caldwell of Portsmouth, OH, Sara and Zack Brumfield of Wheelersburg, OH,  Emily Caldwell of Columbus, OH, Bethany Simpson and Seth Simpson of Portsmouth, OH; great-grandchildren, Ava, Arthur and Anna of Indianapolis, IN and Katie of Wheelersburg, OH.
She is also survived by her sister, Charlotte Hulett of Elizabeth City, NC and brother, Charles Robert Rogers of New Castle, IN.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Euton, Dorothea Dorsett and a brother, Bernard Rogers.

Services will be 2:00 PM Monday May 2, 2022 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Rev. Adam Satterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
