Obituary

Thelma Louise Hamilton Veach, affectionately known as "Ted", passed away peacefully Sunday Dec. 15, 2013 in Sunbury, Ohio. She was born November 21, 1921 in Lost Creek, Kentucky the youngest of eight children to Benjamin and Martha (Ollie) Hamilton. At the age of 7 her family moved to the Portsmouth, Ohio area and later settled in South Webster. On April 26, 1953 she married Charles F. Veach (Jack) in Oak Hill, Ohio. They eventually settled in Lancaster, Ohio and lived there until his untimely death in 1965. At that time she moved back to South Webster and with the loving kindness and generosity of the Hamilton families, the Veach families and the South Webster Community at large she raised her children. She is also preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Ray and is survived by Kay Veach Landsberg (Richard), John Veach(Cheryl), Becky Veach McKelvey (Matt) and CharlesVeach (Stacy). She also leaves her grandchildren, Rosanna York (Chad), Cindy Cline (Ryan), Michael Veach (Ashley), Amy Mowry (Kevin), Emily Veach and Lucas and Benjamin McKelvey. She was blessed with five great-grandsons, Kaden and Quenten Veach, Kai and York and J.D.Mowry. She thoroughly enjoyed living life and spent many wonderful times playing music with family and friends, yodeling, board games and travel. She was a Cincinnati Reds fan and spent many hours managing them from her living room. She also took great pleasure following the Shawnee State Lady Bears and Coach Hagen-Smith and was always hoping to catch their games on TV. She moved to the Westerville, Ohio area in the fall of 2004 to be near her children and grandchildren and continued to live life to its fullest. She stayed in tune with the news back home through the enjoyment of her weekly Scioto Voice Newspaper. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday December 21, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in South Webster with Rev. James Benner and Rodney Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at South Webster cemetery. Visitation will be Friday December 20th from 6 to 8 PM at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN SOUTH WEBSTER and Saturday 1 to 2 PM at the church. The family would like to thank the staff at Country View Nursing Facility in Sunbury and Heartland Hospice for their extraordinary love and care, and the staff of 8 Yellow at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
