Age 94 of South Webster, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2015 at SOMC in Portsmouth.  She was born August 25, 1922 in Oak Hill to William and Gertrude (Shuff) Brisker.  Viola was a homemaker and a member of the South Webster Baptist Church for over 60 years.  She also worked as a custodian at her church, taught Sunday School for 40 years, and was a member of the choir.

Viola is survived by one daughter, Nadine (Richard) Maynard of South Webster; one grandchild, Taryn (Mark) Mirabello of Rosemount.  She was preceded in death in 1987 by her husband, Marshall A. Shope; one son, Rick Shope; four brothers, Oscar, Harold, Robert, and William Brisker; one sister, Christina Hollback.
