Age 70 of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born February 24, 1947 in Portsmouth to Donald Leroy and Dorothy Maude (Hughes) Wente. Wayne worked as a manager in the retail industry, working at Lowe's and retiring from Big Lots. In his spare time he enjoyed online poker and researching his family's ancestry.

He is survived by his sons, Wayne Wente, Jr. of Sciotodale and Christopher (Amanda) Wente of Piketon; brothers, Myron Wente of Sciotodale and David (Jennifer) Wente of Grays Lake, IL; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Hampton and his parents.
