Wendell E. Howell, 72, of Portsmouth died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 18, 1940 in South Webster, a son of the late Milburn and Rebekah Barry Howell. He was retired from the maintinance department at the Scioto County Courthouse. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomas Howell; 2 sons, Randy (Alice) Howell of Ashville, Lyndell (Debbie) Howell of Portsmouth; 3 daughters, Julie (Richard) Hobbs of Lucasville, Brenda Crabtree and Melanie (Clinton) Driskell all of Portsmouth; a sister, Juanita Canter of Pickerington; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
