Obituary

Wilbur T. Boggs, 75, of Wheelersburg, died Friday, April 9th at King's Daughters in Ashland, KY. He was born February 16, 1935 in Wheelersburg to the late William Thomas and Maude Allen Boggs. He was a truck driver for the Scioto County Engineers, worked at Osco Industries, retired from Bloom Vernon School District as a Bus Driver for 19 years, and also served as Vernon Township trustee for 28 years. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Ethel Faye Miller Boggs, who he married January 14, 1952 in Richmond, Indiana. Also surviving are five sons Wilbur E. (Sue), of Portsmouth, William "Bill" E. (Brenda), David R. (Kimberly), Dale L. (Tami), Steven W. (Lynn) of Wheelersburg, a daughter, Debbie F. (Randy) Howard of Wheelersburg, and a daughter-in-law, Norma Boggs of Wheelersburg; four sisters, Gladys Liles of New Boston, Thelma Gayhart of Minford, Millie Hurst and Juanita Wallace of Wheelersburg; one brother, Finess Boggs of Sciotoville; twenty grandchildren, Shawna (Scott) Parker, Kevin & Joey Boggs, William "Billy" (Jessica) Boggs, Jennifer (Zachary) Stone, Melissa (Scott) Cole, David (Rebecca) Boggs, Tiffany (Lance) Allen, Brittany (Adam) Salyers, Dexter, Devin, Brianna Boggs, Keith and Craig Howard, Ryan Mershon, Steven "Jasper", Tyler, Troy, Travis, and Keira Boggs; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jessica and Mariah Brown, Jessica Rae and Billy Boggs, Ciera Boggs, Trya and Justin, Hannah and Kiley Cole, Haley Lockhart and Austin Boggs, Brooklyn Howard, Penelope Salyers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Robert, and Ernest, two sisters, Imogene, and Arlene, and one grandson, Derek Boggs. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Rick Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 11th from 4 - 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Monday. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
