William G. "Bill" Stephan, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 9, 2023 at the SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. He was born on January 11, 1931 in Atlanta, GA. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1948 until 1972, serving in a supporting role during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired at the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was dedicated to his God, his country, and his family. He was a man of many talents, known as a skilled cook, fisherman, and handyman. He was a passionate fan of football, with a special love of the former Washington Redskins and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Bill was preceded in death by wife, Linda Stephan, wife, Louise West and wife, Aiko Okano Stephan; parents Prentice and Pansy Stephan; siblings, Manuel Stephan, Ann Weaver, and Florence Ellis; and daughter-in-law Margaret Stephan.

Survived by sons, Mark (Carole) Stephan of Morristown, TN; Bobby (Beth) Stephan of Loveland, OH; and John Stephan of Colonial Beach, VA; step-children: Debbie (Jeff) Latimer of Greenup, KY and Ron Caudill of Wheelersburg, OH. He is survived by grandchildren, Valerie, Andrew, Nicole, Daniel, Nicholas, Matthew, Zoe, Tonya, Linda, Gabriel, Jamie, Heather, Sean, Chase and Tracy, along with many beloved great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Mary Ellen Ingalls and Margaret Jones, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be 12 NOON, Thursday December 14, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME, Wolfe- Nelson Chapel in Sciotoville, OH, with Pastor Lorenzo Bentley officiating. Interment will follow at Baylous Cemetery in Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
