William R. Gartin Jr., 53, of Portsmouth, died Mon. August 30, 2010 at James Cancer Center in Columbus. He was born December 23, 1956 in Portsmouth, a son of William R. Gartin Sr. of Portsmouth and the late Frances Gartin. He was a member of 7Th Street Baptist Church and the Structural Iron Workers Local 769 of Ashland, KY. He is also survived by 2 sons, John Paul Gartin of Wheelersburg and Bobby Lee (Lori) Gartin of Portsmouth; 3 daughters, Danielle Renee' (Michael) Ashley of Minford and Billie Jo Jordan of Wheelersburg and Jennifer Lis of New Bern, NC;1 sister, Kay Cofer of Portsmouth; 2 brothers, Oscar E. (Joyce) Gartin of Portsmouth and Chester D. (Brenda) Gartin of New Bern, NC and 6 grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 AM Sat., Sept. 4, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Hector reffit officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 PM and Saturday 10 to 11 AM at D.W.
