John Franklin Basham, 69, of Jackson, OH, passed away on September 1, 2025, at Holzer Hospital in Jackson. Born on August 10, 1956, in Oak Hill, a son of Frank and Dorothy Basham.

John was a man who enjoyed cooking and fixing BBQ at home. He had a passion for gardening and loved spending time outdoors. He was a big Ohio State Football fan and enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.

John is survived by his loving wife, Patti, son; Jeremy Basham and partner Kristy Ferrell of South Webster, and daughter; Stacy Hornikel and her husband Keith of South Webster. He is also survived by his brothers; Rick Basham of Wheelersburg, Joe Basham of Homestead, FL, and Paul Basham of Proctorville, and his sister; Linda Preston and her husband Jim of Minford, grandchildren; Kaelyn, and Kenzie along with a great grandchild, Krue. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Dorothy (May) Basham, and a nephew, Daniel Basham.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 05, 2025, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster with Merit Smith officiating. Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 12:00 NOON to 2:00PM prior to services.
